Haiti - the video onslaught continues (will it ever end???)

Even more you tube footage from out American friends.

Good for recognising the impact of the disaster. Think about this when you look at other disasters - you could perhaps make a photobook showing a timeline and then annotate it appropriately.

More on Haiti

Whilst not likely to win an Oscar, it does show how earthquakes can just 'happen.'

I will post more video footage shortly.

Haiti Earthquake

It is really hard to know where to start with this one - so much suffering and misery, yet a really good example of an LEDC Earthquake case study that is modern, relevant and (unfortunately) still ongoing.

CNN have made a very useful section about the Earthquake from the US perspective.

Disaster relief mapping is an excellent way of Geography mapping itself.

If anyone wants to donate via the disasters and emergencies website - I have included the link here.

As with all 'disaster' case studies - the focus should be based around the following theme:
Causes of the disaster,
Details of the disaster (time, location, strength (if an earthquake) etc.)
How it affected people and property.
What aid was needed - who sent aid etc.
How effective the relief effort was in easing the suffering in the disaster area.
How did the area get back to "normal" - if it did at all.

Most of this can be tracked well on the CNN link.

OK, so its been a while...

...well, I've been busy or something. Seriously, I will make some efforts to updating some of the content. Most of what is in the history sections is well worth exploring - so please dig away! Geographical history - thats worth exploring!
